We're Here!!

We had a fabulous road trip to Virginia! A few moments of conflict, and a little boredom, but lots of fun moments too, and exciting exclamations from the children when they would see something "new". We all agreed that flying is nice if you need to get to somewhere in a hurry, but it's not nearly as interesting as driving.

A doing stickers and coloring on his magnetic tray. My husband made our first magnetic tray when our oldest was a toddler and we have had as many as three at a time in our van. It's a cookie sheet with a wooden frame that fits around the carseat. In recent years his design has included a cup holder. Love this! It has saved road trips for our toddlers.

Getting on the road again after our overnight stay in Breezewood, PA.

Sunday night, eating dinner at our condo in Williamsburg! It's a beautiful condo, we feel downright pampered.

Some highlights from the trip here:

Hearing "Wow! Look at that view!" about two dozen times as we drove through the Alleghany Mountains.

Our son G saying, "We're having Beautiful Time here!" as we drove through the Alleghany Mountains.

The comment, "I think I'm falling in love" when driving through the Alleghany Mountains. (do you see a theme going on here???)

Rocking out to southern gospel music as we drove through eastern Ohio (can I say "rocking out" and "southern gospel" in the same sentence?).

Listening to 8 episodes of Adventures in Odyssey (with many more to come!).

Worshipping on Sunday morning to The Second Chapter of Acts Hymns CD.

Spending so much time with my precious family, and having my husband's undivided attention!

Making such good time that we were able to stop in Washington DC and see a couple sites, but I'll write about that in the next post.
