We finished another school year!!!!! (sort of)

Today was our last official day of school! YEEEEEE-HAWWWWWW!!! Hello summer!

We completed reading through the gospel of Luke, all the children completed Explode the Code phonics workbooks for their grade, our daughter finished her grammar book, and we are at a good stopping point for math (at the end of a lesson for everyone). Most importantly, we have finished an entire year plan of Tapestry for the VERY FIRST TIME!!!! When we started Tapestry two years ago, which consists of 4 different year plans that cycle through all of history, we chose to begin with year 2, which covers the fall of Rome (about 400 A.D.) to the year 1800. There was so much packed into year 2 that we decided at the beginning to take two years to cover it, rather than just one. It also helped with my "tapestry learning curve." :-) So this is the first time we have completed a year plan of Tapestry, and it is a GREAT feeling!

We didn't quite finish reading The Great Little Madison, so I will continue reading that next week. And after a two week break we will do one math page a day throughout the summer just to keep our skills honed. But we are D.O.N.E.

Thank you, Lord, for bringing us through another school year. Thank you for another year of allowing us all to learn and grow together. Thank you for giving the daily strength and grace that was needed, and for the privilege of seeing connections made and knowledge gained. Knowledge apart from You is worthless, however. Open our eyes to see Your hand in all we learn, to see how You have cared for Your people down through history, and to marvel at Your greatness when we consider all that you have allowed man to achieve. As the teacher at our little homeschool, I am so grateful and humbled at this close of another year. Thank you, Lord. I love you.
