Scenes of Easter, 2009

Have you heard of Resurrection Eggs? They are plastic eggs which contain items that tell the entire Easter story, from last supper to resurrection! This is egg #1, containing a cracker and a cup fashioned from tin foil. The children really enjoy hearing (and touching!) the story this way. Some years we do all 12 eggs during Easter dinner, and some years we do a couple each night of Holy Week. You can buy resurrection eggs such as in the link above, but I think it's more fun to make your own!

  1. Thanks for sharing your Ressurection Sunday with us :) I love the Ressurection Eggs. We were with friends who have the bought set, but it has a book in it where you can do a much more detailed walk through the story and you add a bunch more eggs to it that you make and gather the stuff for it to do. They actually label the ressurection eggs and they are hideen with other eggs too and then after the hunt whatever child has whatever egg it is when it comes time opens it and are asked what it means and discussion starts. It is wonderful time :) Looks like yalls day was amazing too :)

    Blessings,

  3. We used to enjoy making our own too! I think that was more fun than buying them. Looks like you had a lovely Easter. I really missed not being at my moms and sort of limbo in a hotel this year. I am thankful that the day is what it is...and not based on the externals. =)
    Blessings,
    Laurie
