Our thermostat registered 65 this morning, but it felt significantly colder than that in our bedrooms upstairs, with their non-carpeted floors. I know heat is supposed to rise, but.... it was VERY hard to get out of bed!
We have a meeting this evening with a salesman from one company, I have a meeting with another company tomorrow afternoon, and with a third company on Monday afternoon. If we go with a high efficiency furnace we can qualify for the government rebate program and get 1/3 of the cost of the furnace back at tax time. So that's attractive. But it's more money up front. We hope to have a decision made by early next week and the new furnace installed shortly thereafter. So we have several more days to go. It turned quite a bit colder here overnight so I think we'll be having lots of fires in our fireplace this weekend! (in between the soccer games)
Is the net less for the high efficiency furnace? If so, maybe you can "figure out" what your taxes for the year by go by an estimate using last year's tax laws and see if you can reduce your deductions and have even less taken out. I don't know if this makes any sense. Probably not. If it does, yahoo! LOL
