We got a new tent this summer. It worked out GREAT and we really liked it. It has two "rooms", sleeps our whole family easily, and......
even has a porch! This large covered area for shoe removal helped keep the inside of the tent really, really clean. Unusually clean for camping.
We also set up our small pup tent (the original tent that my hubby and I first camped in after marriage!) to serve as the changing room for the children. They kept their suitcases in here.
First morning at the campground.....daughter G found a toad.
Our kitchen. It never did rain, but we were prepared just in case. :-)
Breakfast!
One of the first things our children do whenever we go camping is to look around for good walking sticks.
Setting out for a hike!
On our way back to the campground, I found none other than a turtle beside the path!
I lost my washtub to a temporary habitat for the turtle. We observed it for several hours and then let it go beside the river, where it immediately buried itself in the mud.
At the pool.
I loved:
having devotions outside in God's beautiful world
watching the children hunt for toads and interesting insects around the campsite
having campfires
making s'mores
seeing millions of stars at night
swimming with the children every day in a very.nice.and.safe pool
having no phone or computer or TV to distract me
having a total and complete break from school prep and other responsibilities
listening to the children breath at night and knowing they were sleeping soundly
spending so much focused time with my family
BEAUTIFUL pictures! K&A loved seeing the toad. A thot the turtle was wearing shoes ;o)
