Unwanted

We have apparently had a mouse family living somewhere in our outer basement/laundry room wall all winter.  We have seen the evidence but until yesterday they managed to evade capture.  Yesterday my husband disposed of two, and reset the traps in case there are more.  No new activity at the traps yet today.  I am thinking we got the parents (judging by their size), and if they had babies, the babies will probably die somewhere in our wall.  Ewwwww.  Not happy about that.  Do any of you have experience with mice in walls?  Any way for us to know for sure?

  1. Do we have experience with mice?! Yuck! We caught "many" in our mudroom this year. We have also had 1 in our wall; right by our heads in our bedroom. You can hear it gnawing away. I though we were rid of it, but I heard something the other night near our closet. This thing needs to go.

i hate mice in the house!
no advice about getting dead ones out of the wall though.
we've had bats and red squirrels too.
    none are fun.

  3. I don't know what to tell you about getting them out of the wall. I would say set a trap close to where you think they might be. At some point they'll get hungry and need to come out. And, use peanut butter - they really like that.

We went on a 10 day vacation and came home to seeing a mouse scurrying in the garage. We've caught 5 mice in one week. Yuck!

  4. Well, no new mice since we got the two. Traps are still set, just in case. No smell either, so that's good!
