This picture was actually taken LAST weekend. Our boys C and L enjoyed shoveling snow off the sidewalk so much that they cleared a path all the way around our court and did two neighbor's driveways! I guess since there was no snow on the grass to play in, they made the most of the snow that had fallen on the cement.
This past Saturday we enjoyed our time-honored tradition of driving to the local suburban Christmas tree stand and picking out our tree!
Our winter's supply of firewood was delivered and my hubby and the 3 older boys worked to stack it.
Finally, on Sunday afternoon and evening we were able to decorate our tree! I loved hearing the children ooh and aah over their favorite ornaments as they were unwrapped. Each of our children get at least one or two new ornaments each year for their personal collection. Our daughter is up to 29 already!
Thank you, Lord, for our family traditions which help make this season of your birth so special. As we prepare our home, help us also to prepare our hearts. Thank you so much for being "Emmanuel", God WITH US!
Oh, the snow looks like fun! It's so warm here having a real tree can be too dangerous-fire hazard. The kids get elated at digging the tree out of a box. They are so deprived!

Can I spend Advent and Christmas at your house? Do you have enough room for six more?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like MO has more snow than MI right now!
Susan, of course you are welcome anytime! It would be crowded but we could do it! :-) Actually though, I think *my* family should come to MO....40 wooded acres and lots of snow?? My dc would be in heaven!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you! Very curious to read the rest of Seb's aneurysm story.
