Grad Party times Two!!

How do you have a grad party for two people with very different tastes?

You let them each decorate their own "all about me" table....

and pick their favorite dessert to have alongside their cake....

and the rest is happy, generic party!

We had a bit of a food emergency when the power strip got overwhelmed and stopped working, so everyone chipped in to heat food on our stovetop and carry it outside to the food line.

Many people were none the wiser!

It was fun to see so many people we love from various chapters of our lives all in one place!  We have the BEST relatives and friends.  They were so kind and generous to both son G and daughter H, and we are very, very grateful for their celebrating with us!

Our Two Graduates!!

Since I last posted we have celebrated the graduations of son G and daughter H.  Happy days, both!

We graduated son G from our home school, and that carries with it all kinds of emotions.

This is when he saw (and we read to him) his diploma for the first time.

The seniors praying together right before graduation.

During the ceremony, each family got three minutes to share whatever was on their hearts to share. Both my husband and I shared words with son G....and I managed to get through that without crying!

There were 17 seniors that graduated together in our co-op's ceremony.  This was immediately after they recessed out of the auditorium....they were pretty giddy!

My parents got to be there, and my husband's mom was there....very special!

Ten days later we celebrated the graduation of daughter H!!

She did it!  We were all so proud of her!

All the special people who came to celebrate with us!

We are so proud of both of our children for persevering through senior year, and thankful for the ways God is leading and guiding each of them.  Big changes continue for us this year as we navigate having more young adults in the house (both of them are attending local colleges), but God is ever faithful and we know we can trust Him!

Happy 20th, 18th, and 17th birthdays!

Welp, our oldest child is no longer a teenager.  HOW did that happen?!

We celebrated her a few days before her birthday, when she was home from college for the weekend.  Unfortunately, not all of her siblings were also home that same weekend, but we held up a picture of the missing boy so that we were all "together!"  We are in that stage of life where there are just a lot of comings and goings.

One week later, this boy turned 18!!

Son G's birthday fell during tech week right before the play, so I took a cake to play practice and all his drama friends sang to him during rehearsal.

He and son L's play performances were wonderful!!  They performed in Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility", and Little Man also acted in the play for the very first time.

Then today, son L turned 17!!

And in between there was senior prom for son G,

new laptop for him, as he prepares to graduate and head off to college,

senior "pinning" for daughter H,

the end of semester art show for daughter G, and then bringing her home after successfully completing her sophomore year of college,

and copious amounts of yard work, as we prepare for a double graduation party.

Love each milestone and each moment with these precious kiddos.

Happy birthday daughter G, son G, and son L!
