The bunkbeds were definitely the highlight of son G's birthday! They were given to us, used, and we went to pick them up in the afternoon (thankfully, with our new big van I had no worries about fitting all the pieces in! In fact, we picked up TWO sets, and will deliver the other set to another family). After work my husband and G worked on setting the bunkbeds up. I was so grateful for the opportunity this afforded for them to work on something together and spend time together. First they washed each piece outside before carrying it into the house.
Learning how to use a new tool!
After his birthday dinner (salmon this year! just like his sister last week. This surprised me as I was expecting him to ask for mac-n-cheese!) G opened his gifts. A journal from Grandpa Dean and Grandma B! He wrote in it immediately (he and C are the two journalers in the family).
DVD's about steam engine trains. Thank you Gma and Gpa! You chose well! (and the bouncy balls were a huge hit)
A hanging chair for his bedroom (he had picked it out a couple weeks earlier).
Happy Birthday G! How thankful we are for you!
Going to bed happy in the new bunkbeds. The border along the top is from when this room was the nursery, and Lord willing will be coming down this summer. They have chosen to paint their room light blue.
It was a happy day!
