Three days into our summer vacation....

.....and our daughter has read 5 books so far! She told me Monday morning that she didn't know what to do "since it's been a whole year since I've had summer vacation, I don't remember what to do when I'm not doing school."!! She followed this up with, "I'm glad we'll be doing reading and one math page every day, otherwise I would have too much free time."

Should I be ecstatic or worried??!?!

you should be happy.

my older two at that age always had a book going during the summer. we were at the library every week to restock.

but she might enjoy getting the calendar out and planning some activities to do with friends. it's always fun to have something to look forward to. will she be going to grandma's this summer at the cottage?

This is why we school year round. Mine aren't as constructive as yours -- they start getting into trouble. This week I'm giving them a break because they are in VBS every morning but they need something to fill their days. And I am trying to take them swimming every day. It's amazing what incredible progress the 7 year olds have made. I feel so much better about how they will be at the lake this summer.

If you're worried then I should be worried too because K is just like that! We are always at the library and the past 3 weeks he spent his allowance on a new book.
