A Cut Above
Notice the happy smile? Despite the chopped off bangs? And despite the cut on his finger, on his lip, and several cuts shredding the cuff of his sweatshirt? Yes, this would be the first (and last!) time that one of our 5 children quietly found the scissors and began experimenting. All was well and good, he thought, until he cut himself. The screaming from the upstairs bathroom let us know that a certain someone was up from his nap and having a major problem. It took a looooong time for the happy smile to re-appear, but here it is. I have not fixed his bangs yet. He is very embarrassed about them, so it's been a continuing lesson so far. We are just very thankful that he didn't cut himself worse!

My son used to do this annually right before his birthday when he was a preschooler. He was always so proud of the new look of his bangs, which no professional hair stylist would choose to emulate! At least the hair *will* grow back!
Blessings,

Katie gave me my first haircut. . .and we're 23 months apart. Later, when we were in high school, my mom became know as the one who could make "homemade haircuts" look pretty, or at least presentable :)
