Son C (age 7): "15 plus 15 is 102, because five plus five is 10 and one plus one is two!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Son G and his friend, while in the minivan taking his friend home after G's birthday dinner, as I am smiling broadly to hear a spontaneous math conversation:
Son G: "did you know a Cadillac Escalade costs about $70,000?"
Friend: "wow, that's a lot. L told me it was either 7 thousand or 7 million but those didn't sound right."
Son G: "it's not even HALF of 7 million!"
Friend: "it's not even a QUARTER of a million dollars!"
Son G: "is it a quarter of a quarter of a million?"
Friend: "let's see.... (doing calculations in head) yes! Yes, it's actually more than a quarter of a quarter of a million dollars."
Son G: "that's a lot of money."
Okay, I'm impressed by the "quarter of a quarter of a million" question and answer. Do you just LOVE MUS? BTW, hubby joined FB last night. The pressure is on. Or maybe not. ;-)
