Bad Mommy

You know how two posts down I said that we were late to Awana and I did not care? And I didn't practice verses beforehand and didn't care about that either? Apparently my not caring resulted in my two little Sparkies not bringing wrapped books for the book exchange. HOW COULD I FORGET??????!!!!

I am a bad mommy. Or at the very least I had a bad mommy moment. I also forgot about crazy hat night earlier this fall. The first night back to Awana in January is crazy sock night. I am putting a sticky note on my cupboard door right this minute!

No, I don't think that was a bad mommy, but perhaps an overwhelmed mommy? You've had a lot extra on your mind lately and that's cause for juggling more things. Yesterday ds said he was out of a semi-important med that I had to call in to the nurse to get another script done. For a necessary med, it was a bit old...expired last spring! The nurse asked how that happened. That's what I'd like to know! I was shocked too! I told her when my kids were babies, I thought life would be so much easier when they got older and able to take care of things themselves. Now that they are older and more independent...I am suddenly so disorganized and not on top of things like I was when they were younger. The nurse laughed and said that she's a grandma now and it will only get worse! =0 Hang in there and I'm praying for you! You were heavy on my mind when I did my quiet time this morning and I was praying for you then too!

Things like this is why I think I need rather than just want a PDA for Christmas. My sister wrote and asked me how the bathroom remodel was coming. I thought, We rent, what is she talking about? And then I remembered that I had told them I would work on getting a sink put into my dad's dressing area next to his bathroom. Had completely forgotten about that. Ooops.

Don't feel bad, my sparkie was one of only two kids who didn't wear a t shirt on "T shirt" night and my cubbie apparently grumped the whole evening long a few weeks back when she was the only one with out a flashlight on "bring your flashlight night". I missed something else earlier in the year too. I've tried making up for it by writing each thing on my big wall calendar because I alwasy lose the Awana notes under something else on the fridge. Yes, I've already written down sock night too so I don't forget!! You're definitely not a bad mommy - you're the mom I aspire to be someday!
